Who is Jesus?

= ; = There are bumper stickers around that try to answer the question of “= who is Jesus.” Some stickers say: Jesus is … Lord, Son of God, = Prince of Peace, or even, the answer. The problem with the one word” = answers is that Jesus is so much more! In this gospel John the Baptist move= s from “not sure” to “sure” who Jesus is: Lamb of G= od, Spirit-filled, Son of God. How John answered that question, determined = his life. How you answer the question of “who Jesus is” will de= termine how you live your life now and in the future.

= Who is Jesus for you? What kind of activ= ities does Jesus do? Has your description of Jesus changed or grown as you&= #8217;ve grown?

= The mystery of who Jesus is continues to be revealed to us and through us t= oday!

GET REAL

Sit quietly. Breathe in good clean air and exhale t= he stress and anxieties of the day. Ask Jesus to help you be aware of what = you need to learn or see.

Read each line of= JOHN THE BAPTIST’S TESTIMONY TO JESUS. Think about each phrase as yo= u hear it. Pay attention especially to any phrases that stand out for you. = What does this mean for you?

Re-read the section a= gain. Picture the scene. What would it be like for you to be a LISTENER, BE= LIEVER or a DISCIPLE?

Re-read the section f= or a third time. What is asking for your attention? What are you being aske= d to do? What will it mean?

Take a few minutes to talk and thank Jesus!<= /p>

John = the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Behold, the Lamb o= f God, who takes away the sins of the world. He is the one of who I said, <= /span>̵= 6;A man= is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.R= 17; I did not know him, but the reason why I came baptizing with water was = that he might be made known to Israel.”

John = testified further, saying, “I saw the Spirit come down like a dove fr= om heaven and remain upon him. I did not know him, but the one who sent me = to baptize with water told me, ‘On whomever you see the Spirit come d= own and remain, he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’=
