SNDdeNs honored

for service to immigrant communities in Florida

Notre Dame de Namur Sisters Ann Kendrick, Gail Grimes, and Maureen White were recognized by the Orldndo Diocese Bishop John Noonan for 40 years of service to the poor and immigrant communities of Orange County.

"We are the ones to be honoring the folks whom we serve and who have enriched our lives for 40 years. We are grateful for all our partners and funders. We will continue to work for justice and to buid bridges of understanding among and between people of different ethnic, racial, social and economic backgrounds."

--Sister Ann Kendrick SNDdeN

This article from The Florida Catholic is about the 40th year anniversary celebrations that the sisters are holding this year as an opportunity to raise funds and bring more supporters to their work here in Apopka.

Sister Nancy Bonshock

a voice for the voiceless

Sister Nancy Bonshock SNDdeN received the 2010 St. Francis Medallion for her long term service at Notre Dame Academy in Villanova, PA.

This award recognizes her principally as living the virtues of courage, peace, love and forgiveness and teaching by example.

According to colleagues and students, "Sister Nancy has been a voice for the voiceless, has a passion for justice, a love for the poor and a heart wide as the world."
