5. Called to a Personal Vocation
We are also called in particular ways because we have different talents and gifts.
These gifts are in areas of both what we do (ministry) and who we are (lifestyle) as expressed in single life, married life or relgious life.
Reflection/Action:
"We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love Him... For those who he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethern. And those who he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified; and those he justified he also glorified." Rom 8:28-30
All Christians in any state or walk of life are called to the fullness of Christian Life and to the perfection of charity. In order to reach perfection the faithful should use the strength dealt out to them by Christ's gift, so that doing the will of the Father in everything, they may wholeheartedly devote themselves to the glory of God and to the service of their neighbor. Thus the holiness of the People of God will grow in fruitful abundance, as it clearly shown in the history of the Church through the lives of so many saints.
A vocation is the committed state of life to which God calls you.
Are you called to be married? to be single? to be a member of a religious community?
