Discernment: God is calling. How will you answer?
How fitting that the Church highlights the begins Vocation Awareness Week on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. On that day, we identified with Jesus as he begins his public ministry. As his followers, we are invited to accept our own mission and to renew our baptism in the Spirit.
Take some time praying with the readings for the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
First Reading: Is 42:1-4, 6-7 or Is 55:1-11;
Responsorial Psalm: Ps 29:1-2, 3-4, 3, 9-10 or Is 12:2-3, 4bcd, 5-6
Second Reading: Acts 10:34-38 or 1 Jn 5:1-9;
Gospel: Mk 1:7-11
Consider the gifts of the Spirit that have been given to you.
How are those gifts being used to serve and to build God's kingdom?
Is God calling you to serve as a wife and mom?
Perhaps your happiness will be found as a single person.
Might God be calling you to religious life?
